Twenty years ago, the skies of Brazil were completely covered by colorful balloons until 1998 where balloons became illegal punished with up to 3 years of prison. To this day, balloon crews are persecuted by police. Cai Cai Balão is a fast paced parkour-lite racing game in which the player completes intense missions in a fictional urban city in Brazil. The player must escape aggressive police officers, snipers, dogs and other obstacles in order to become the FIRST to catch a giant hot air balloon that will earn him respect from the baloeiro families and status as the most notorious balloon hunter. The narrative and voice acting have been developed in close collaboration with baloeiros from Brazil.

DADIU educates future game developers. The students participating in DADIU come from art schools and universities in all of Denmark. The students are accepted into a specific competence. DADIU admits six Game Designers, six Game Directors, six Project Managers, six Level Designers, six Audio Designers, six Art Directors, and a number of Programmers, CG artists, QA Managers, Visual Designers, and Animators.

During the DADIU program, I had the role as Quality Assurance (QA) and User Research (UR) manager. Two roles confined into one where the overall goal is to make sure that the product is up to the expectation imposed by various stakeholders. The QA part is the internal aspect of this and it is mostly confined to finding issues and making sure that these issues get prioritized and resolved. UR focuses on the external perception of the game and here the important aspect is finding out what the potential user, or players, think, understand, and feel about the product.
